More about Gideon!

Why you first get involved in fitness?

I made fitness my career once I realized that my passion for sports and athletics was burning strong long after my competition days. Being a lifelong athlete, I’ve been driven by my experiences in sport and used many of those lessons off of the field. I entered the fitness industry to share those same learning and hopefully help others in their personal journeys.

Why you love living a healthy/active lifestyle and the benefits of doing so?
Living an active lifestyle has so many proven benefits. It positively influences sleep, mood, cognitive function, appearance, energy, and confidence. I’m driven to staying active because I know that one day I may not be able to accomplish as much as I’m currently able to. Taking advantage of an active lifestyle will likely put me in a position to live a longer, healthier, more rewarding life!
What is the one piece of advice that you would give to encourage anyone to start/continue a healthy and active lifestyle?
The one piece of advice I would give to anyone looking to start their fitness journey is to find something they enjoy and use that as their mode of exercise. Too often do we read that a certain exercise or format is best for you. If you’re not likely to do it, what good is it in actuality? Find something that brings you joy to help distract you from the fact that it is exercise. That may be dancing, swimming, bicycling, boxing, yoga, team sports, or pilates to name a few.
Regarding your workout, what is it fundamentally based around and what does it help to achieve/why should a workout of this sort be done and who will benefit from it?
The workout I designed is based around total body work that involves the core and challenges total body strength, endurance, and overall athleticism. The workouts are designed to challenge specific aspects of your fitness without burning you out. It allows every person, newbie to experienced exerciser, the opportunity to test their limits and feel empowered through the process.

Workout #1 - Monday: Cardio!
